How To Blog Monetization Case Study: How I Monetized My Wine Review Blog That Earns $1,500 Monthly

Are you looking for profitable ways to make money online?
I think this is the right time to reveal the exact strategies I used to monetize my blog where that talks about different kinds of wine. From the initial setup of this blog, I didn’t know it would turn out to become a money maker. I don’t know what level of success you’ve experienced so far with your blog, after reading this page, you would be able to increase your monthly earnings and grow your business.
What Is Blog Monetization?
I see people throw this word around often but do you really know what it entails?
Monetizing a blog means adding links, banners and programs that would generate income when a visitor (buyer) takes any form of action. It doesn’t matter if he clicked, registered or bought a product, you’ll still earn a commission. Most of the money we make as bloggers comes from affiliate programs.

As an affiliate, you earn a part of the total cost when your prospect completes an action. But when monetizing, it’s important you know what your audience want and how desperate they want it.
Monetize With Coupon Deals
My blog had already clocked 6 months before I discovered my first monetization system. Online shopping has grown tremendously over the years and this has given birth to a hot niche (coupon deals).
Online shoppers want to save and if you can make this real, they will buy from you consistently. I started reviewing zagat wine coupons and laithwaites wine discount code. When a wine enthusiast or buyer clicks on my affiliate link and places an order, I earn 15% of the product’s cost.
Monetize With Pay Per Action (PPA)
Pay per lead is my favorite system. When I implemented the codes and links on my wine review blog, my earnings increased virtually overnight. These are affiliate programs that allow you to earn a commission when you refer a prospect to them. It’s like email marketing and relationship building where the product owner is concerned about building trust and selling later.
Unfortunately, several pay per lead programs will not accept new blogs. If that’s the case, you need to improve on your blog’s performance. Boost the alexa ranking and probably your Google pagerank. All these would increase your chances of getting an approval email from the merchant.
But when they finally accept you into their network, you can easily earn $400 – $10,000 monthly which depends on your marketing chutzpah.
Monetize With AdSense (PPC)
The easiest way to monetize your blog no matter the niche is via adsense. This pay per click program from Google can put extra income on your bank account monthly. It works best when your blog readers are novice to pay per click. Pay per click programs doesn’t work in “internet related” niches because your readers are mostly marketers and know what you’re up to.
Nobody wants to make you rich. That’s why they can’t click those paid ads on your blog. But when your niche is outside marketing and make money niche like health, scrapbooking, education, gardening, the conversion rate on clicks would skyrocket.
Marketing Takeaway
The above three money making systems were the major monetization methods used on my wine blog. As I write this, this blog of mine still generates $1500 every month and there are reasonable points that it would increase soon.
